Bruised, battered but loving it

The majority of the 90 competitors came in muddy, bruised, battered and cut up, but none were complaining after another satisfying Rock the Race concluded on Saturday.
“I’m completely exhausted, beat up all over, but I loved every minute of it,” said first-time adventure racer Alan Brown of Rockford. “I’m going to pay for this when I get out of bed in the morning, but I’d do it all over again.”

Brown’s original partner, Nancy Whitlock, broke her wrist during a biking accident two weeks ago while training for the seventh annual race viagra, which was based at Cherry Valley’s Espenscheid Forest Preserve this year.
